OUR HISTORY / OUR MISSION
The Child Abuse Prevention Center was established in 1988 as a CAP Center under the guidance of the National Exchange Club. The Center has been awarded an accreditaion level of 'AA' with the National Exchange Club Foundation.
We have grown during our 22 years of operation to cover much of South Mississippi with four permanent office locations (click here for office locations). The Center is currently serving Forrest, George, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Jones, Lamar, Marion, Perry and Stone counties.The Center has served and continues to serve the communities of South Mississippi with a variety of programs aimed to prevent abuse and neglect, open communication between parents and children, aid victims of crime, offer educational programs and bring awareness to all the areas we serve.
The Center's mission is to prevent child abuse by improving the quality of life for all children and their families in the South Mississippi area through prevention, education, and intervention.
